After you perform a search for data (as described in Searching for Data), the search results appear. The following two tables describe the actions you can take in the search results.

You can perform the following the actions in the search results without logging in:

In data search results, click Shareable Link and then click the copy icon
To do this ...Do this ...

Sort results by asset name

Click the sort ascending icon (The sort ascending icon.Image Added) or sort descending icon (The sort descending icon.Image Added).

Select the number of assets per pageIn the Rows Next to Results per Page box, select a number. The minimum number of assets per page is 10 and the maximum is 100. 
Move to the previous page of results

Click the previous icon (The previous icon.Image Added). 

Move to the next page of results

Click the next icon (The next icon.Image Added). 

View details about a public assetIn data search results, click the asset link. The system displays the details page for that asset. For details, refer to Exploring Details of an Asset.

Share an asset

Click the Copy asset link icon (Copy Asset Link.Image Added). The system copies the URL to your clipboard. 

View details about a program or study

In data search results, click Click the program or study link. The system displays the user metadata for that collection.   If an attribute value begins with http or https, MoDaC displays it as a hyperlink.

Move to the previous page of results

 

Collapse an asset details card

Click the Collapse card icon (The Collapse Card icon.Image Added). 

Expand an asset details card

Click the previous Expand card icon (The Expand Card icon.Image Added)

Move to the next page of results
View details about a public asset

Click the next iconasset link or View asset details icon (The View Asset Details icon.Image Added). The system displays the details page for that asset. For details, refer to Exploring Details of an Asset

Depending on various factors, you might be able to perform the following the actions in the search results after logging in. (For instructions, refer to Logging In.)

In data search results, click or asset link. For public asset

View details about a non-public collection

Click the program link, study link,

asset link, or View asset details icon. For a program or study, the system displays the user metadata for that collection. For an asset, the system displays the details page for that asset. For details, refer to Exploring Details of an Asset. 

You can view details about a non-

public asset if either of the following are true: 

  • You created the collection. 
  • You belong to a group that has been given access to the collection. 
Download one or more assetsassets 

Select

the asset

the asset or assets of interest. (You can select multiple assets for download, up to 1 TB of data per request.) Click Download Selected Assets. The Download page appears. For details, refer to Downloading Data

Any logged-in user can download a public asset. You can download a non-

public asset

public asset if either of the following are true: 

  • You created the asset. 
  • You belong to a group that has been given access to the asset

To download a large asset, click the asset link or the View asset details icon for the asset of interest. The Asset Details page appears. For details, refer to Exploring Details of an Asset. 

Manage group access for a collection

Next to the collection of interest, click the people permission icon (The permission (lock) icon.Image Added). The Update Group Access Groups dialog box for that collection appears. For details, refer to Managing Group Access to an Existing Collection. 

You can manage group access for a collection in the search results if either of the following are true: 

  • You created the collection. 
  • You belong to a group that has been given access to the collection. 
Edit the metadata or permissions for a collection

Next to

the collection

the collection of interest, click the edit icon (The pencil icon.Image Added). The user metadata page for that collection appears. For details, refer to the following pages: 

You can edit metadata or permissions for a collection in the search results if either of the following are true: 

  • You created the collection. 
  • You belong to a group that has been given edit permission.
