If you have a MoDaC user account with upload permission, you can manage which groups can edit the metadata for your collections (at the asset level or higher). The groups you specify can also add or delete files or subcollections.

  1. Log in, as described in Logging In.
  2. You have the following choices:
    • To edit permissions of any collection:
      1. Click Upload in the header. The upload page appears.
      2. Navigate to and select the collection that you want to edit. Click the edit option. (For example, to edit an asset, select a program from the program list, select a study from the study list, select the asset from the asset list, and then select Edit Asset.) The User Metadata page appears with the collection name.
    • To edit permissions of a collection that contains files:
      1. Perform a search, as described in Finding Data. In the search results, each entry lists the relevant collections (program, study, and asset). An edit icon appears next to each of your collections.
      2. Click the edit icon next to the collection of interest. The User Metadata page appears with the collection name.
  3. Click Edit Permissions. The Update Permissions dialog box appears.
  4. In the Permissions field, select one or more groups from the list. (If the Permissions field is empty, only the person who created the collection can edit the metadata, add files, or add subcollections.)
  5. Click Update.
