After you perform a search for data (as described in Searching for Data by Keyword or Searching for Data by Attribute), the search results appear. The following two tables describe the actions you can take in the search results.
You can perform the following the actions in the search results without logging in:
To do this ... | Do this ... |

Sort results by asset name | Click the sort ascending icon () or sort descending icon (). |
Select the number of data sets assets per page | In the Show ... entries boxNext to Results per Page, select a number. The minimum number of data sets assets per page is 10 and the maximum is 100. |
Move to the previous page of results | Click the previous icon (). |
Move to the next page of results | Click the next icon (). |
Share an asset | Click the Copy asset link icon (). The system copies the URL to your clipboard. |
View details about a data setprogram or study | Click the program or study In data search results, click the link. The system displays the details page user metadata for that data set. For details, refer to Exploring Details of a Data Set. |
Move to the previous page of results | Click Previous. |
Move to the next page of results | Click Next. |

Collapse an asset details card | Click the Collapse card icon (). |
Expand an asset details card | Click the Expand card icon (). |
View details about a public asset | Click the asset link or View asset details icon (). The system displays the details page for that asset. For details, refer to Exploring Details of an Asset. |

Edit the metadata for a data set | In the row for the data set of interest, click the edit icon. For details, refer to Editing Metadata. | ||
View details about a non-public collection | Click the program link, study link, asset link, or View asset details icon. For a program or study, the system displays the user metadata for that collection. For an asset, the system displays the details page for that asset. For details, refer to Exploring Details of an Asset. You can view details about a non-public asset if either of the following are true:

Download one or more assets | Select the asset or assets of interest. (You can select multiple assets for download, up to 1 TB of data per request.) Click Download Selected Assets. The Download page appears. For details, refer to Downloading Data. Any logged-in user can download a public asset. You can download a non-public asset if either of the following are true:
To download a large asset, click the asset link or the View asset details icon for the asset of interest. The Asset Details page appears. For details, refer to Exploring Details of an Asset. | ||
Manage group access for a collection | Next to the collection of interest, click the permission icon (). The Update Access Groups dialog box for that collection | Download a data set | In the row for the data set of interest, click the download icon. The Download dialog box appears.
