Download the VD import template. (Start with a fresh template for each import.)

Populate your file with information about the VDs that you want to import. The following table provides instructions for each column in the VD import template:
Column Name Instructions Do Not Use Leave empty. Batch User Enter a batch user name in each row. You can provide any text in this column. The system does not validate this column. Batch Name Enter a batch name in each row. The combination of Batch User and Batch Name must be unique. Seq ID Specify a unique sequence ID in each row. Context Name TBD Optional Specified VD Long Name TBD Optional VD Short Name TBD Rep Term Qualifier Concepts TBD Primary Rep Term Name TBD Primary Rep Term Concept TBD CD Long Name TBD CD Public ID TBD VD Type TBD Source Data Type TBD Standard Data Type TBD Unit of Measure TBD Display Format TBD Minimum Length TBD Maximum Length TBD Low Value TBD High Value TBD Decimal Place TBD Comments TBD As you populate your file, you can use your Delete key to clear the contents of one or more individual cells, but do not delete entire rows or columns.
- Save the file as CSV.
