The Team Calendars macro generates an image that is not visible and has no alt text. This macro is used on the NCI Wiki, but its use is limited to essential calendars. For an example, refer to CBIIT Speaker Series Page.

Displaying Team Calendar events on the Dashboard

Using Team Calendars, you can select calendars from which to display current events on the Dashboard when you are logged in.

  • Click the link for My Calendars.
  • Select Add Calendar and then Add Existing Calendar.
  • Select the calendar or calendars to be shown in the list of events on the Dashboard.

Adding a Team Calendar on a wiki page

You can add a calendar using My Calendars on the Dashboard. Adding a calendar on a wiki page makes it easy to find the calendar.

To add a Team Calendar on a wiki page

  • Type {team and when the list of macros opens, select Team Calendars.
  • Select Add New Calendar or Add Existing Calendar.

To add an existing calendar

  • Select Add Existing Calendar.
  • Search for an existing calendar.
  • Select the calendar from the list.
  • Save the page and add events.

To add a new calendar

  • Select Add New Calendar.
  • Select the type of calendar: Events Calendar, People Calendar (has the same format as an events calendar), JIRA Calendar, or Subscribe by URL or Import Calendar.
  • Enter a name for the calendar; choose a unique name.
  • Add a description if desired and specify the time zone if needed.
  • Save the page and add events.

This macro allows adding a calendar with the same name as an existing calendar. This includes calendars on wiki pages, other calendars in the database, and calenders that have been removed, calendars on pages that have been removed or purged, and calendars in wiki spaces that have been removed.

Add a calendar to a Team Calendar or set parameters

To add a calendar to a Team Calendar or set parameters

  • Select Edit to open the editing window for the page.
  • Click the Team Calendar panel and select Edit.
  • Add the events from another calendar or set the parameters:
    • View (Month, Week, List, Timeline)
    • Width in pixels
    • Height in pixels
    • Legend (bottom, right, none)
    • Select the check box to Hide weekends if applicable
  • Save the page to add Events.

Options on the Team Calendar edit menu

In the page editing window, when you click the Team Calendar macro panel, you can select the option to Edit the calendar or select any of the following options:

  • Month to display the month
  • Week to display the Week
  • Timeline to display a timeline
  • Add calendar to add events from another calendar
  • Remove to remove the calendar from the page; to remove it from the wiki, use the My Calendars link on the Dashboard.

Adding events to a Team Calendar

On the wiki page, click Add Event and specify the parameters:

  • What
  • When
  • All day event (check box) or frequency
  • Repeat for a frequency (Does not repeat, Daily, Weekdays, Weekly, Monthly, Yearly)
  • Repeat interval
  • Ends (never or Until)
  • Related page - search for and select the wiki page on which you are creating the calendar.
  • Description

On the wiki page, from the pull down menu, you can

  • Add Events
  • Set Restrictions (avoid restrictions for calendars created with the previous Confluence calendar macro, rather than the Team Calendars macro)
  • Share or Embed the calendar
  • Subscribe to the calendar
  • Export to iCalendar
  • Refresh
