To link to a website

  1. Type the link text and highlight it.
  2. Click the link icon in the Confluence editor.
  3. In the dialog, navigate to Web Link and enter the URL for the website.

To link to another wiki page

  1. To use link text other than the page title, type the link text and highlight it. To use the page title, place the cursor where you want the link.
  2. Click the link icon in the Confluence editor.
  3. In the dialog, navigate to Search or Recently Viewed and enter the page title (for search); select the title from the list.

If you link to a site other than a US government site, include the destination in or adjacent to the link text, for example "on the HL7 website." Add the exit disclaimer in the XHTML immediately following the link.

Note

  • If you link to a page by its title and someone changes the title of the page you've linked to, the link will change automatically. If you have used the page title supplied by the link dialog as the link text, it will change. Any link text that you typed does not change; this includes the page title, if you typed it.
  • If you have linked by page title, and someone changes the page title you have linked to, your page will indicate it was last edited by the person who changed the title of the page you linked to. If your page is restricted for viewing and editing, it will still be shown as having been changed by this person, who may not have permissions to edit or even to view your page.
