If the following criteria are met, you can delete a file:

  • You own the data. That is, you created the file. 
  • The data is not public. That is, in the parent collection, the access_group attribute is not empty. For information, refer to Managing Group Access

To delete a file:

  1. Log in, as described in Logging In
  2. Perform a search, as described in Finding Data.
  3. In the search results, click the link for the data set of interest. The Data Set Details page appears. 
  4. In the row for the file that you want to delete, click the delete icon (screenshot TBD). A confirmation message appears.
  5. Click Yes. (TBD: Why would "Failed to delete data file" appear? What normally happens at this point?)
