After you perform a search for data (as described in in Searching for Data via the GUI), the search results page appearsappear.The following table describes  The following two tables describe the actions you can take on in the search results page. Some of these actions are also available on the Dashboard, on upload/download status pages, or when searching for users or groups. .

You can perform the following actions in the search results without logging in:

Save search criteriaClick Save Search Criteria. The Save Search Criteria dialog box appears. For details, refer to Saving a Search via the GUI. Export collection or file search results

Click the menu icon () to the right of all columns. An option list appears. For further instructions, refer to Exporting Search Results via the GUI. (This option is available only for data searches.)

Sort results by asset name

Click the sort ascending icon (The sort ascending icon.Image Added) or sort descending icon (The sort descending icon.Image Added).

Select the number of assets per pageNext to Results per Page, select a number. The minimum number of assets per page is 10 and the maximum is 100. 
Move to the previous page of results

Click the previous icon (The previous icon.Image Added). 

Move to the next page of results

Click the next icon (The next icon.Image Added). 

Share an asset

Click the Copy asset link icon (Copy Asset Link.Image Added). The system copies the URL to your clipboard. 

View details about a program or study

Click the program or study link. The system displays the user metadata for that collection. If an attribute value begins with http or https, MoDaC displays it as a hyperlink. 

Collapse an asset details card

Click the Collapse card icon (The Collapse Card icon.Image Added). 

Expand an asset details card

Click the Expand card icon (The Expand Card icon.Image Added). 

View details about a public asset

Click the asset link or View asset details icon (The View Asset Details icon.Image Added)

View details about an item

You can view details in the following lists:

In data search results, click the collection or file path

. The system displays the details page for that

collection or file

asset. For details, refer to

Viewing Metadata via the GUI.
  • In the list of saved searches on the Dashboard, click the search name. The system displays the search results for that saved search.
  • In the list of notifications on the Dashboard, click the notification ID. The system displays the details page for that notification.
  • In the list of download tasks, click the Task ID. The system displays the details page for that download task. For details, refer to Viewing Download Status.
  • Depending on various factors, you might be able to perform the following the actions in the search results after logging in. (For instructions, refer to Logging In.)

    Click the program link, study link, asset link, or View asset details icon. For a program or study, the system displays the user metadata for that collection. For an asset, the

    Edit an item

    You can view details

    in

    about a non-public asset if either of the following

    lists

    are true: 

    • In the list of saved searches on the Dashboard, click Edit. The system displays the Search page with the search criteria for that saved search. For details, refer to Searching for Data via the GUI.
    • In the group search results, click Edit. The Update Groups page appears. For details, refer to Updating a Group via the GUI.

    (This option is available only for saved searches and group search results.)

    Download a collection or file

    In the row for the collection or file of interest, click the download icon (). The Download dialog box appears. For details, refer to Downloading Data via the GUI. (This option is available only for data searches.)

    Download multiple files
    • You created the collection. 
    • You belong to a group that has been given access to the collection. 
    Download one or more assets 

    Select the asset or assets of interest. (You can select multiple assets for download, up to 1 TB of data per request.) Click Download Selected Assets. The Download

    In the selection column, select each file of interest. Then click Download Files. The Download Data files

    Multiple

    Files via the GUI. (This option is available only for data searches.)

    Any logged-in user can download a public asset. You can download a non-public asset if either of the following are true: 

    • You created the asset. 
    • You belong to a group that has been given access to the asset. 

    To download a large asset, click the asset link or the View asset details icon for the asset of interest. The Asset Details page appears. For details, refer to Exploring Details of an Asset

    Manage group access for a collection

    Next to the collection

    Download multiple collectionsIn the selection column, select each collection of interest. Then click Download Selected Collections. The Download Collections page appears. For details, refer to Downloading Multiple Collections via the GUI. (This option is available only for data searches.)Create a link

    In the row for the collection or file of interest, click the link icon (). The Link page appears. For details, refer to Creating a Link via the GUI.

    Create multiple linksIn the selection column, select each source file and click Create Link. The Link page appears. For details, refer to Creating a Link via the GUI.Manage permissions for a collection or fileIn the row for the collection or file

    In search results for data files, collections, users, or groups, click the Page to first icon (). In the upload/download status pages, click First. (This option is not available for saved searches or notifications on the Dashboard.)

    Move to the previous page of results

    In search results for data files, collections, users, or groups, click the Page back icon (). In the upload/download status pages , click Previous. (This option is not available for saved searches or notifications on the Dashboard.)

    Move to the next page of results

    In search results for data files, collections, users, or groups, click the Page forward icon (). In the upload/download status pages , click Next. (This option is not available for saved searches or notifications on the Dashboard.)

    Move to the last page of results

    In search results for data files, collections, users, or groups, click the Page to last icon (). In the upload/download status pages , click Last. (This option is not available for saved searches or notifications on the Dashboard.)

    Group Access to an Existing Collection

    You can manage group access for a collection in the search results if either of the following are true: 

    • You created the collection. 
    • You belong to a group that has been given access to the collection. 
    Edit the metadata or permissions for a collection

    Next to the collection of interest, click the edit icon (The pencil icon.Image Added). The user metadata page for that collection appears. For details, refer to the following pages: 

    You can edit metadata or permissions for a collection in the search results if either of the following are true: 

    • You created the collection. 
    • You belong to a group that has been given edit permission.
