If you have a MoDaC user account and you have write access to a Globus endpoint, you can download one or more files to that endpoint. For prerequisites when using Globus with MoDaC, refer to Preparing to Use Globus

To copy the UUID of your Globus shared endpoint:

  1. In Globus, navigate to the list of endpoints that are sharable by you. The shared endpoint you created is available in that list with the following description:
Shared Endpoint on <name of shareable Globus endpoint>
  2. Click the shared endpoint link. A page appears with details about that endpoint.
  3. Next to the Endpoint UUID field, click the copy icon.

To download data from MoDaC to a Globus endpoint:

  1. Log in to MoDaC, as described in Logging In
  2. Search for the data of interest, as described in Finding Data
  3. In the search results, you have the following choices:
    • To download an entire asset, select the asset of interest. (If you have a user account with upload permission, you can select multiple data sets.) Click Download Selected Assets
    • To download part of an asset, click the link for the asset of interest. The Asset Details page appears. Select one or more files for download:
      • To download one file, click the download file icon in that row.
      • To select all files, select the Batch Select checkbox. (To deselect one file, click the checkbox in that row.) Click Download Selected Files.

    The Download page appears.

  4. Select Globus
  5. Specify the following information:
    • Specify the UUID of the shared Globus endpoint. If necessary, copy the UUID from that endpoint, as described above.
    • Specify the Globus endpoint (destination) path. If you want to transfer the file to the root of the shared Globus endpoint, specify a forward slash character (/) as the path. If the destination folder structure you specify does not already exist, MoDaC creates it.
  6. Click Download. The system transfers the data based on your selections.
  7. When the system displays the task ID, consider viewing the status of the download. For instructions, refer to Viewing Download or Upload Status
