The caNanoLab User's Guide provides information and instructions for using caNanoLab. This chapter introduces you to using caNanoLab online help and how the caNanoLab User's Guide is organized.

Using the Online Help

caNanoLab online help is provided in a user's guide format.

You can open the user's guide without being logged into caNanoLab.

To open the complete online user's guide on the public home page, click the Help menu option.
To open the glossary, click the Glossary menu option on the public home page.
At the top of any caNanoLab page, click Help to open a context-sensitive topic for that specific page.
caNanoLab uses many terms unique to the nanotechnology domain. In the online help, the words appear as links which open up the Glossary for a definition.

The following topics introduce you to the caNanoLab portal and describe each chapter in the online User's Guide.

Based on your caNanoLab permissions, you may not see all of the options described in the help topics when you log in. For more information, see What Options You See and Why.
